I worked with Grace on 2 top-tier MBA applications and was accepted into HBS. Walking into the business school application process, I was unsure of how to create a clear, concise and unique “story”. Grace’s creative approach and years of experience were an integral part of guiding me through the process. She pushed me to brainstorm deeply and tie together my life/career experiences into an authentic and unique story. She recognized where I had gaps and had advice on how to fill them, and she helped identify specific experiences that would be critical to highlight throughout the application. I had initially applied to GSB in fall 2019 but was unfortunately waitlisted. Thankfully, with the help of Grace, I successfully navigated the wait pool and was ultimately offered a place in round 2 admissions. Being a reapplicant and having worked with other MBA consultants before, I knew going into the process what kind of consultant I wanted. Since I have a PE/IB background, I wanted a consultant that would be strong at the storytelling part and Grace’s marketing background was something that caught my attention. Being Asian myself, I also thought that she would understand my cultural background as I wanted that to be an important aspect of my application. She helped me turn my numerous individual life stories into one cohesive and eloquent storyline that gave admissions a sense of my impact at my job, what I value and my cultural background. I have no doubt that my essays helped me differentiate myself from other applicants from traditional backgrounds.

I was also really impressed by Grace’s commitment to ensuring that I was always showing my best side possible to the AdComs. In one of the applications, we had already exchanged some essay drafts and were exactly 7 days away from the submission deadline. Grace reread my application and felt that one of the essays was not really unique so she asked me to do a major revision. Obviously, I was worried about the upcoming deadline, but Grace’s suggestion ultimately made me submit an essay that was much stronger. I really appreciate what Grace did and this shows that she won’t stop until the application becomes your best work possible.

Grace only has a few years of experience doing MBA consulting (5 years I think) but you can rest assured that she has the skills and will put in the effort to make your application fantastic. No point in having a consultant with 20+ years of experience that does not take the time to analyze every word choice in your essay or help you brainstorm. Her comments are on point, thoughtful and constructive. She is a pleasure to work with and I am glad that I picked her to help me this year!
